I was going to write a rant about anti-choicers. But then I realized that I’m too angry to write anything coherent and worthwhile.
And I came across this beautiful piece of culture-jamming. It really made my day and gave me a much-needed smile. So go have a look. You won’t regret it.

Me neither! I’m glad that when I finally did, it was with this counter-message :)
this was my first time seeing it, too. and it’s pretty disappointing, because i LIKE special K. also, weren’t they the cereal that came out with those body-image POSITIVE ads a while back that were lauded by feminist groups for showing men in a bar saying things like, “does this make my butt look big?” and “i have my mother’s thighs…i have to accept that,” and then a message along the lines of, “men don’t worry about these things, why should we? love your body, be healthy, etc.”
i’ve also heard that the same advertising agency that designed those positive dove commercials, showing all types of women “loving” their skin and bodies, also designs the Axe ads. i guess it’s just whatever sells.
anyway, i really liked this. it was inspiring. makes me want to do some culture-jamming (a new phrase for me) of my own.
That feministing thread was irritating. I’m happy to engage anti-abortion advocates if they want to talk, but in a feminist space, I shouldn’t have to be called a baby-killer. Oenophile is a fucking nut. She called the accuser in the Duke rape case a “black whore” and said that people on that thread will always support a “lying black whore” over a white man.
It makes me want to do some culture-jamming, too, Mary! I wish that I lived in a big city where these kinds of ads are all over the place.
