The House of Representatives has voted to partially repeal the global gag rule. The bill would allow contraceptives donated by the U.S. to go to organizations that perform abortions or provide abortion referrals with their own funds (these organizations currently do not receive any U.S. money).
Of course, I say that it’s a “moral victory” because the bill may not make it through the Senate. And if it does, it will surely be vetoed by our asshole of a commander in chief.
But as someone who criticizes the Dems when they run away with their tail tucked between their legs (all too often), I also have to give them credit where credit is due. This isn’t even something on the public’s radar that’s likely to win them popularity points. So good for them. And let’s look forward to the day where this might actually mean something.

You’re right – it is off the current radar. I’d forgotten about it. So yes, good for the dems.
