So I was tagged by both Jessica Dreadful and Anna for the 8 things about me meme. Usually I don’t do these things, but this one seems pretty benign and I’m short on ideas for posts. I promise that I’ll post something real tomorrow.

1. As of today, I am the new Fundraising Intern at Planned Parenthood of the Rochester/Syracuse Region. This is terribly exciting for me.
2. I lived in Sydney, Australia for 3 years, and attended university there. It was an amazing experience.
3. I’ve had 12 cats throughout my life. My current cat Minka is 14 years old and still going strong. She’s treated like royalty.
4. My dad is a Republican. Hard-core, voted for Bush twice, listens to Rush Limbaugh Republican. When I was younger, he used to call me a “feminazi.” We don’t talk about politics, anymore.
5. I have a seven inch long scar on my abdomen from kidney surgery 4 years ago. I’m fine now.
6. My husband and I have been together for 7 years. We’ve been married for almost 2.
7. My ultimate celebrity crush is Bono. No, I am not ashamed.
8. In the summer, I wear nothing but flip flops. I have over 10 pairs right now, and I wear a different color pretty much every day. I think they probably bother my husband, since I usually let several pairs accumulate all over the apartment before putting them away. But he’s too nice to say anything.

And I *totally* feel your pain about the Republican dad. Mine once called me a communist :) We don’t talk politics anymore either.
Oh yeah, my dad called me a communist ALL THE TIME.
I’m blessed with liberal parents. Interesting about your Dad – wow, what a challenge. Flip-flops – you’re one of THOSE, huh!
