However, I take offence to the word ‘motherfucking.’ I think words like ‘motherfucking’ have deep misogynistic history. You do not hear words like ‘fatherfucking’ and so on…I do not think any words or statements which denote degradation of women should be used.
3 Cara August 17, 2007 at 10:40 am: Interesting point. It’s one that I haven’t really considered before. It’s not a word that I use often, and when I do, it’s as an extra, angry emphasis on the word “fuck.” But I am one who believes that one’s intentions regarding language don’t excuse its derogatory usage. I’ll have to think about that one.
