Every so often I come across a story about a sexual assault that is so horrible, I can’t even speak.
A black woman was held captive and assaulted for at least a week by at least 6 white individuals. The woman was raped, beaten, stabbed and subjected to other completely vile and unspeakable violence.
There’s little to say other than telling you to read it. Because I can’t feel that when a woman has suffered this, the rest of us deserve the comfort of not even knowing about it. Also, anyone who can read this story and still oppose hate crime legislation– for both blacks and women– is clearly lacking either a brain or a soul.

Yeah – I work for a news service/training company for Law and Fire and this came through as one of our lead stories this morning, but really got little more than a mention which irritated me…..
When I looked at the more in depth articles, I realized how little we actually said about it….
It is a horrible thing.
Imagine if the victim had been a white girl and her torturers had been black. Nancy Grace would have it as front-page headlines.
