A friend of mine has a sister who delayed her move from South Dakota to Tennessee by a couple weeks to vote in the election to make sure that the abortion ban was shut down–she was (as was my friend) raised by conservative Christians, but they both are pro-choice and pro-human rights.

Unfortunately, 16,000 signatures really isn’t that many. The antis have a fairly good network through a number of churches, plus they have their lists of supporters from the last campaign. If they felt like pushing themselves, they could have 16,000 signatures in a month or so.
