... that last line is such crap. It really speaks volumes when someone is so fabulously unaware of the very real policy that is so important to this whole thing. Does she know that Obama has a perfect women's issues record? Does she care?

I really should stop being surprised that people who claim to be interested in elections fail so completely to actually address the real issues. ... as though you can know from just looking at a woman that she'd vote for the ERA. Please.

Ok, I'm a left-wing British person and I watch army wives (in the UK)- keep up people. ;) According to people in the know, Army Wives is the next big thing, and there is nothing like appealing to the vapid interests of women to get them to vote for you- right?

Army Wives is conservative enough to appeal to the Republican vote, but also has strong women characters and questions the morality of war enough to appeal to the Democratic viewer. I actually quite like it in a 'escapism, don't question too much, but doesn't throw anti-women values in your face in an very overt way', kind of a way. I am guessing the endorsement by different candidates is just a reflection of its popularity.

That 'Target Women' rocked.

That is just... so strange. Why would they do that?

I suppose having both candidates do it means the show isn't being "partisan", but... why?

*sigh*

Ok so I like doing small bits of research and answering questions. It seems there is a television show called Army Wives on lifetime. According to wikipedia it's "a US television drama series about a woman who marries a soldier and moves her family onto a US Army post, where she becomes friends with other women and men whose spouses are in the Army." Any way it seems both Mcain and Obama did short 30sec teasers for the show.

Any way I hope you feel better soon.

Oh yeah, sorry -- I know what the show Army Wives is (though thank god I've never watched it). I'm trying to figure out why the hell Barack Obama and John McCain were talking about it.

I really liked that video, Cara. (I haven't been a big fan of the other ones by Target Women.)

"Army Wives" is apparently the newest version of "Desperate Housewives" or something. I'm afraid I don't have a t.v., and if there's a fandom it's not being loud and cranky, so I know nothing else.
