Army Wives is conservative enough to appeal to the Republican vote, but also has strong women characters and questions the morality of war enough to appeal to the Democratic viewer. I actually quite like it in a 'escapism, don't question too much, but doesn't throw anti-women values in your face in an very overt way', kind of a way. I am guessing the endorsement by different candidates is just a reflection of its popularity. That 'Target Women' rocked. It seems there is a television show called Army Wives on lifetime. According to wikipedia it's "a US television drama series about a woman who marries a soldier and moves her family onto a US Army post, where she becomes friends with other women and men whose spouses are in the Army."
