I Met The Walrus

Well, not me.  I wish.  This is a 1969 interview with John Lennon, conducted by a 14-year-old boy, which has been animated.  Really, it’s great — John was always and excellent interview, and the illustrations are funny and inspired.

Ohhh – I saw this at a screening of all the animated shorts nominated for Oscars, and I loved it. I’m glad its getting some attention.

I saw it at an Oscars screening, too! I agreed that Peter and the Wolf probably deserved to win the prize for Best Animated Short (it was pretty fantastic), but this one was still secretly my favorite.

I had no idea this was nominated for an Oscar! That’s pretty cool. I just love Lennon. And the bit where the poor nervous kid is weirdly going on about how he doesn’t like George very much (blasphemy!) and how all the kids at the school like the Bee Gees and John’s just going “uh . . . huh . . .” makes me giggle.
