Sick fuck “feminist activist” and confessed sexual violator Kyle Payne will be sentenced on August 25th.
I’m letting you know this simply because letters in support of the victim are still needed.

I have been emailed by Darren, who said that on August 15th, he was told by the court that they had only received two letters in support of the victim. If this is true, it’s certainly disturbing and must be corrected. I know that I mailed mine last week. I’m also concerned because while I was searching to verify the fax number (yes, it’s correct), I also found the address above in numerous places, and it’s the first time I’ve seen a P.O. Box along with the address. So, for that reason I think I’m going to re-fax my letter today to make sure that they’ve received it. I don’t see how it could hurt.
Please write and fax a letter of support for the victim ASAP.
I make no claims to the be world’s best letter writer. But I’m also lazy and it’s hard to get me up off my ass and write a letter of my own rather than signing my name to one that’s pre-written. I can’t be the only one. So, in the interest of getting as many letters sent as possible, I am including my letter below the jump for you to use as a guide and template for your own. Please do not copy it word for word, but use it as inspiration if you’re stumped for what to say.
Dear Judge Courtney:
I am writing to you with regards to Mr. Kyle Payne, who has pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and invasion of privacy. I understand that you will be the judge presiding over his sentencing on August 25, 2008. Mr. Payne has confessed to exposing an unconscious woman for whom he was supposed to be caring and photographing her breast for his sexual pleasure. Prior to the event and through to his guilty plea, Mr. Payne strongly identified with the feminist movement, spoke out against pornography, counseled rape survivors and wrote regularly about women’s issues and putting an end to sexual assault.
Mr. Payne is therefore not only guilty of invading a woman’s privacy and assaulting her for his sexual pleasure, but of violating many women over the years who sought out his services as a rape crisis counselor. For a rape survivor to learn that her counselor was himself someone who committed a repulsive sex crime against another woman could be extremely traumatizing and is a grave violation of trust. Further, the crime which Mr. Payne committed is a very serious one, and is known to greatly impact survivors. Mr. Payne is guilty of nothing less than violating his victim’s body, trust, and sense of safety.
Mr. Payne has recently published on his online weblog (http://kylepayne.wordpress.com) a letter of explanation and supposed apology for his actions. His letter reads as a disturbing plea for sympathy, entirely about himself and very little about the woman who was impacted by his crime. He seems to only show remorse because of how his crime has affected his life. Mr. Payne repeatedly downplayed his actions and did not take responsibility for them, claiming it was the result of an impulse over which he had no control. If Mr. Payne did not have control over his actions, he is clearly a danger to society and must be removed from it. If he did, he is a manipulative liar who lacks remorse and is still a threat to the community.
Mr. Payne deserves incarceration for his crime, and I urgently hope that justice for the victim will be done at his sentencing. Thank you for your time and consideration.
Now get writing.

got an email address that I can use for my letter?
No, unfortunately I didn’t find one in all of my searching around. Here is their info . . . you can always try calling them and asking.
i sent one too, guess I need to try again.
STORM LAKE PILOT ran the story today… Our family is happy Payne got some jail time. After he checks in to the county jail next week, we at least know he is not hurting anyone else and will not have access to a camera or computer for the next 6 months.
