McCain’s Base Trashes Economic Plan
Filed Under 2008 election, Republicans, class and economics, media, politics | Posted by Cara |

This pretty much made my morning.
John McCain is facing a fresh round of anger from members of his own party deeply opposed to the Arizona senator’s proposal for the federal government to purchase troubled mortgage loans.
The pointed backlash from several economic conservatives — many of whom already distrust McCain’s commitment to free-market principles — couldn’t come at a worse time for the Republican presidential nominee less than four weeks before Election Day as he stares at a significant deficit in national and state polls.
But at a time when McCain can’t afford to worry about a lack of support from his party’s base, several conservatives are openly criticizing the plan as a flagrant reward for reckless behavior among lenders.
In a sharply worded editorial on its Web site Thursday, the editors of The National Review — an influential bastion of conservative thought — derided the plan as “creating a level of moral hazard that is unacceptable” and called it a “gift to lenders who abandoned any sense of prudence during the boom years.”
Prominent conservative blogger Michelle Malkin went one step further, calling the plan “rotten” and declaring on her blog, “We’re Screwed ‘08.”
Dear god, who ever thought that I’d even partially agree with The National Review and Michelle Malkin? I’d feel badly about that, but I’m too busy laughing my ass off at how very FAIL McCain is.
Is it just me, or are the Republicans turning into the Democrats in terms of strategy? Usually you can’t beg these fools to publicly stray off the message they think will get them elected, and now they’re agreeing with Obama’s campaign commercials. Again, I’m not doing a victory dance yet, and advise that you don’t either. But as of right now, I’m deeply enjoying this ride to Election Day.

“Men, their rights, and nothing more; women, their rights, and nothing less.” — Susan B. Anthony

John McCain can keep his Bailout Plan as I am sure it will change again tomorrow. I am amazed how dirty he gas gotten. I did admire him until I started to look into his background a little and discovered what a dirt bag he is. He is not going to Fear monger me, or get my vote just because I’m a Republican, I see him for what he really is. If we wanted another Bush we would just keep him in office. Some Republicans will be sorry we didn’t put Ron Paul in.
Look! McCain can’t even get members of his own party to go along with his plans. Crazy!
It appears as if this man is on the verge insanity.
If he is elected president we are all in serious danger of being plunged into war for decades.
He is a very dangerous person that I believe thinks. America is some all powerful entity that has earned the right to rule the world by force.
Rather than leading with an example of tolerance, compassion and innovation.
The more I see him and his ideals. The further I am convinced that he is bent on revenge. And he is barely able to keep his rage supressed.
We are at a crossroads in this country greater than the time before WW2.
Do we want war or peace?
We all say we want peace! But, the people that put effort into changeing themselves are almost always idolized by our media. Thus adding to the belief that only certain people can stand up to the intolerance created by ignorance and arrogance.
It is a responsibility of every human being to rage against the war machine! We must or we are faced with certain destruction of all that we have worked so hard to create.
