I've posted a chart showing how the process works now, and how it would change if Prop. 4 passes. Even a teen having her parents' support would have to have a notarized statement from the parents to have access to health care.

Every time access is reduced women die and I don’t see why that is so hard to accept.

To reiterate, I wish I still thought it was a difficulty in accepting it; but I increasingly think it’s a big part of the point. They want abortion to be life-threatening, not just to deter women from having them, but to kill those who do.

It seems like people are determined to take whatever underhanded means possible to over turn the right to choose. It won’t take much for young girls to flee the safety of the doctors office and resort to desperate measures that can lead to deaths. Every time access is reduced women die and I don’t see why that is so hard to accept.

Prop 4, a piece of legislation which will appear on the ballot for the third time in four years, would instate a parental notification requirement for minors seeking an abortion.

This is stupid. Someone so desperate as this is not going to jump through all the legal hoops needed to get out of this notification – it’s vastly more likely to drive them away from medical care altogether. I wish I could express any confidence that that wasn’t the intent.
