Lives are hanging in the balance, but the trouble is that only some lives matter in the eyes of the anti-choicers. The lives of the women being put at risk are worth less than nothing; all they are, after all, merely vessels destined to receive sperm and produce infants. I don't know that I agree with you that deep down they all know they can't end abortion. I think most of them truly believe abortion can be brought to an end -- maybe I don't give them enough credit, but I think they truly believe in their heart of hearts, that if we could just go back to the 1950s model (illegal abortions then nothwithstanding) and take away the rights of women as individuals, all our problems would be solved. I don’t know that I agree with you that deep down they all know they can’t end abortion.
